Astrology as a mirror for self-understanding — never a forecast of fate.
People sometimes arrive at astrology a little warily, half-expecting to be told what will happen to them. So it feels right to be clear, from the start, about how I work and what I believe a reading is for. Everything I offer rests on a single principle: understanding, never prediction.
Understanding, never prediction
I do not read charts to foretell events, and I will never hand you a sealed envelope marked “the future”. Your birth chart is not a script of things to come; it is a map of meaning — a portrait of your temperament, your patterns, your gifts and your growth edges. A reading is less like predicting the weather on a fixed date and more like coming to understand the climate you live in, so that you can meet your life with more clarity and more agency.
You are the author, not the audience
At the centre of everything I do is a conviction that you are a participant in your life, not a passenger. A chart may describe strong tendencies, but a tendency is not a fate. Two people can live the same placement in very different ways, depending on awareness, choice and circumstance. The chart shows the raw material; what you build with it remains yours. My work is simply to make the invisible patterns visible, so you can work with them consciously rather than be unconsciously run by them.
The purpose of a reading is not to tell you what will happen, but to help you understand what is true — and to hand your own authority back to you.
Soul-centred and evolutionary
I practise within the tradition of evolutionary astrology, which reads the birth chart as a map of the soul’s growth over time. Rather than asking “what will happen to me?”, we ask better questions: what patterns have I carried, what am I here to grow toward, and where is my life asking to become more honest? It is a gentler, deeper conversation than the horoscope-column version of astrology — and, I think, a far more useful one.
How I hold a reading
A reading with me is a live, unhurried conversation, usually around ninety minutes, and it is recorded so you never have to scramble to take notes. I calculate and study your chart by hand beforehand, and we build understanding gradually — I will never bury you in jargon. It is dialogic, not a monologue: the most powerful moments almost always come when something I describe meets something you already knew but had never quite put into words. You leave understanding the territory of your own chart, not clutching a list of predictions.
A word on trust
Before astrology, I served as an officer in the Royal Air Force, and I bring the same care, discretion and groundedness to this work. I am completing my formal training in evolutionary astrology (FCEA, due November 2026), and I hold your story in confidence and without judgement. If astrology has ever felt either too woolly or too deterministic for you, my hope is that this way of working offers a third path: rigorous, warm, and always in service of your own understanding.
